About Lquique:
Lquique, capital of the
first region, is one of the most visited cities in the Norte of Chile.
As well as the cultural background and long history, it's the starting
point for all the excursions to visit the Altiplano and the old
saltpeter offices. If one adds spectacular beaches, an excellent hotel
infrastructure and a mild climate all year, Iquique becomes an
irresistible destination. The beaches of smooth slope, are
ideal for baths of sea and sun, the practice of nautical sports,
fishes and hiking. Declared as National Monument the center is set of
some old declared constructions and buildings - there is also the port
with the Wharf of Passengers and the Ex-Customs; in the Sotomayor-Street
you'll find the well known English Railway station. The best known
beaches are: Las playas más conocidas son: the Playa Huayquique, the
Playa Blanca and the Brava beach
