Puerto Penasco
This former fishing
village is found along the northeastern shore of the Sea of Cortez,
which is also known as the Gulf of California. Also known as Rocky
Point by the gringos who frequent its beaches and other natural
wonders, the city of Puerto Penasco is a great destination for North
American travelers all year long. It has some of the very best beaches,
the water is warm and clear, the tides are quite large and the
swimming and snorkeling is excellent. You can fish on many of the
party fishing boats, linger pool-side at one of the pleasant hotels or
rental condos around town, enjoy a cocktail in one of the many local
establishments and dine at one of the nice and inexpensive restaurants
along the ocean.
